The educators have a role to give birth to creative ideas interesting activities for visitors, especially children when visiting museums in Jakarta.
“Creative ideas are born from educators, how collections can be more educational. There’s the game. If there is no educator, you can try to gather creative people,” said Bayu Niti Permana, head of the history and Museum subgroup of the DKI Jakarta Culture Office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to Bayu, if the target of the museum is a child visitor, then educators can present games or singing, dancing activities on the sidelines of children’s visits.
Batik activities, for example, are liked by children because they are fun. From that idea, batik activities were born in the Textile Museum to Rainbow fabrics.
“At an early age, the idea of making batik was born. Batik facilities, used to be in the Textile Museum once made it, ” he said.

The idea came from an educator, then a batik program was born at the Textile Museum to develop natural dyes. “Then dye or make rainbow cloth and so on,” he said.
Another idea, such as at The Jakarta History Museum, is the idea of a small archaeologist program with the aim of making children like archaeological findings.
“They were given the means to dig sand, made rooms like caves and so on. Usually educators have this idea and the average teacher has an educational background, most unusual to make educational programs, ” said Bayu.
He said, now more and more new ideas are born from educators and this has an impact on the location of the visit.
According to Bayu, a visit to the museum that was only a visit in the museum, can increase with a visit to the park because it is related to the collection of natural dyes with plants.
