Minister of Culture Fadli Zon wants the standardization of museums in Indonesia which aims to improve the quality of narration, education, and the attractiveness of museum displays, so as to attract more visitors, especially the younger generation.
“We hope that in the future also through the Ministry of culture there will be standardization of museums, so that our museums have standards in the sense of narrative, education is getting better and displays must be interesting so that young people, more and more people now come to museums,” said Fadli Zon when opening the LCCM event at the National Museum, Jakarta, Friday.
In this effort, utilizing digital technology that is now very close to Generation Z is deemed necessary, and digitization of artifacts will begin from the National Museum, which is currently in the process of repair after last year’s fire.

Minister Fadli also stressed the importance of collaboration with the community and museum associations to revive the museum as a center of cultural activities and literacy, not just a place to store artifacts.
Fadli Zon also positively welcomed the museum Quiz Competition (LCCM) involving the next generation as a step of appreciation and proof that the younger generation is literate about the substance, as well as the wealth in the museum.
“Not only appreciating, but how they began to know the substance, content, artifacts and wealth in the museum. Both in the National Museum, regional museums, museums owned by individuals and others,” he said.

LCCM is a quiz competition carried out by the National Museum through collaboration with the Ministry of Culture which aims to disseminate information about culture and increase public appreciation of Indonesian culture.
With these measures, the Ministry of Culture hopes that museums in Indonesia will be more relevant and interesting for the community, as well as play an active role in cultural preservation.
