Jakarta Continues To Build Infrastructure To Become A Global City

Acting governor of DKI Jakarta province Heru Budi Hartono hopes that Jakarta will not stop in building infrastructure to realize Jakarta as a global city.

“DKI last year took 74th place, my vision is to continue to increase to 50-40 and become 20, among others, focusing on transportation, MSMEs, IT, AI and banking concepts that must all be supported,” said Heru.

This was conveyed by Heru after attending the launch of the first book in a series of eight books entitled “Jakarta’s Path to Top 20 Global City, Book 1: Jakarta’s Profile for Global Competitiveness, in Central Jakarta, Tuesday.

Heru also said that since the beginning of his tenure, he had asked for the direction of development of Jakarta to focus and lead the big city competition or make Jakarta a global city.

With the launch of the book, the heads of agencies can make it as a grid to build Jakarta.

“This has all been included in the RPJPD (regional Long-Term Development Plan). There are 8 books in total, all of them are the concept of Jakarta in the future. And here the grid is for the heads of Jakarta Building Services, ” said Heru.

If in a journey Jakarta faces unexpected things, the pattern written in the book can still be carried out. So, he said, the concepts written in the book remain relevant and implemented.

”At any time, it can still be a reference for the development of Jakarta in the future. Only (if there are obstacles) maybe the time that was 20 years so backward,” said Heru.
