The city of Jakarta is still the most polluted city among 117 countries in the world based on a report from the IQAir page on Tuesday, at 05.58 WIB.
The air quality is in the category of very unhealthy with 213 points or has a PM 2.5 pollutant concentration level of 138 micrograms per cubic meter.
This figure represents 27.6 times higher than the World Health Organization’s (WHO) annual air quality guidance values.
Jakarta compared to other cities in Indonesia, is in second place, after Tangerang with the worst air quality index at 235.
However, when compared to 116 other countries, its Air Quality Index ranked first worst, followed by Delhi, India at 202 and Lahore, Pakistan (179).

As for health recommendations for residents in Jakarta, considering the unhealthy air quality, namely avoiding outdoor activities and wearing masks when outside the home.
Also, close the windows to avoid dirty outside air.
PM2.5 is a much smaller particle size of 2.5 microns (micrometers) found in the air including dust, smoke and soot.
Long-term exposure to PM2.5-months to years-is associated with early death,especially in people with chronic heart or lung disease and decreased lung function growth in children.
The level of air quality in the category of good category, which does not have an effect on human or animal health and does not affect plants, buildings or aesthetic values with a PM2.5 range of 0-50.

Then, the medium category, namely air quality that has no effect on human or animal health but affects sensitive plants and aesthetic values with a PM2.5 range of 51-100.
Furthermore, the unhealthy category is the level of air quality that is detrimental to humans or sensitive animal groups or can cause damage to plants with a PM 2.5 range of 101-199.
The highly unhealthy category with a PM2.5 range of 200-299 or its air quality can be detrimental to the health of a number of exposed segments of the population.
Finally, hazardous (300-500) or in general the quality of its air can be a serious detriment to the health of the population.
